Compliance Program
NorthCare Network’s Compliance Plan addresses our regulatory compliance obligations as a Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan (PIHP). NorthCare is committed to complying with applicable laws, contractual obligations, and maintaining a working environment that promotes honesty, integrity, and high ethical standards. NorthCare’s Compliance Program is an integral part of our mission, vision, and values.
NorthCare’s Compliance Plan is comprised of the following principal elements:
- Written standards of conduct, policies, and procedures that promote NorthCare’s commitment to compliance; and address specific areas of potential fraud, waste, and abuse,
- A Compliance Officer and a Compliance Oversight and Risk Management Committee,
- Effective education and training programs,
- Effective lines of communication including an anonymous confidential Compliance Helpline to report compliance-related issues or concerns,
- The use of audits and ongoing monitoring while striving for continual improvement on compliance activities,
- The development of disciplinary mechanisms and policies to consistently enforce standards; and
- Respond to detected offenses, including potential fraud, waste, and abuse; to initiate corrective action to prevent similar offenses; and to report to authorities when appropriate.
