Substance Use Disorder Services

NorthCare Network ensures that every eligible recipient receives quality specialty Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Services and Support through the responsible management of regional resources.

Frequently Asked Questions?

NorthCare Network’s Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Services are services provided to assist residents of the Upper Peninsula in obtaining SUD treatment.

An alcohol and chemical dependency is recognized as a primary, chronic, and progressive disease that can be successfully treated with appropriate identification and treatment.

NorthCare Network’s role is to assess the appropriate level of care needed, recommend treatment services, and refer the individual to a participating SUD Provider.

Clients are also assessed for funding based on their income, place of residence, and clinical need. People who meet the requirements or are eligible for Medicaid can receive funding for SUD services in the appropriate treatment setting. When scheduling an appointment with an outpatient SUD provider, ask if you are eligible for financial assistance through NorthCare Network.

  • Have you ever had memory problems or couldn’t remember what you said or did the day after drinking or using drugs?
  • Have your family or friends told you that they were concerned about your drug use or your drinking?
  • Have you not followed through with things because of drug or alcohol use?
  • Have you become sick, had the shakes, or had any withdrawal symptoms the day after using drugs or alcohol?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, and you would like to find out more about getting treatment, WE CAN HELP!

Your first step to getting treatment is to contact one of the Providers listed above to make an appointment for Outpatient SUD Treatment. If you feel that you need a more intensive level of care such as Residential Treatment, call and schedule a screening/referral by contacting:

NorthCare Network SUD Services
906-225-7222 or
1-800-305-6564

Eligible clients are those with Healthy Michigan, Medicaid, or MI Health Link, or who meet the NorthCare Network’s SUD sliding fee scale.

Clients should want help for a substance abuse problem and be motivated to complete an SUD Treatment Program.

Clients with private insurance should contact their insurance carrier for referral information.
